Notice is hereby give pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that, following the resignation of Jamie Ranson, a casual vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the St Stephens by Launceston Rural Parish Council.
Requesting an Election
If by 21 October, 2026 (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Good Friday, and Bank Holidays) a request for an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing (by hand or post) to the Proper Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy.
Otherwise, the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
If an election is called, it will take place no later than 23 December, 2026.
